A few months ago I posted a list of 10 excellent niche social news sites. I’ve been updating the categorized list of social media sites tonight and thought I’d point out 7 noteworthy new additions to the list.
Design Bump
Design Bump is a niche site for web and graphic designers. The audience of the site is similar to that of Design Float, another popular site in the niche. Design Bump has grown a respectable audience in just a few months of existence.

Pretty social is a niche social news site for women that includes news on fashion, health, beauty and celebrities. You can submit and vote on stories in typical social news style.
SugarLoving
While we’re on the topic of social news sites for women, SugarLoving is also worthy of a mention. Topics of stories include love and sex, fashion and beauty, home and garden, mind and beauty, and more.
Earner’s Club
Earner’s Club is a social news site dedicated to internet marketing, making money online, and related topics. There’s a lot of good content here if this is an area of interest for you.

WPscoop
WordPress users and designers will be happy to know that there is a niche news site especially for WordPress-related content. If you can’t get enough of WordPress, be sure to check out WPscoop.
PetZume
PetZume is one of several niche sites that focuses on pets and pet lovers. The site is well-designed and there is a lot to do, including watching videos and creating your own page.

An interesting list there. I guess most of these are relatively new sites, do they get much traffic?
Oh, ps, http://www.hugg.com is a decent environmental news site that might be worth adding to the list.
Hi Steven
How about http://vot.eti.me it’s DesignBump esq and was started when DB was put up for sale on sitepoint (DB didnt got through with the sael), the difference is when your links have 3 vote’s they are published to twitter and http://twitter.com/votetime currently has 300+ followers.
Adi,
Hugg is already on the list and was actually featured in the post that’s linked to in the opening paragraph.
Traffic varies from site-to-site. None of them will send huge amounts of visitors to your site, but they will be targeted visitors.
Sorry, must pay more attention

Unfortunate.
Again, a fantastic list. Thanks for this it’s invaluable info.
This list is really useful, especially since with so many new sites popping up every day, it’s getting harder and harder to find the good ones. Thanks for sharing these.

Niche social networks are a welcome addition to the web. Because they are more narrowly focused, they are better able to serve the needs of their community.
The large generic social networks like Facebook and Myspace are great for keeping in touch with friends, but small social networks offer much more – people just like you who share your same passions.
Qnahealth is a new social network for health related information and support. It’s designed to be friendly and easy to use and is focused around users asking and answering questions and sharing their experiences and knowledge.
We invite everyone to take a look as they explore their online health information options.
We welcome bloggers!
